Actually Rich, in the USA, thru weirdness of the system, there are some major policies that are not representative of the majority of population.. Roe v Wade being overturned for starters.
Roe v Wade was not "policy" and was not set by the legislature.
Though there *are* plenty of genuine examples but they are typically not "third-rail" issues (though many of them should be in my book but there you go.)
Point is, there *is* an ongoing conversation in the US. My point is that many external commenters just seem to be pouting that a foreign country doesn't have the beliefs and values they would like them to have and are usually almost totally ignorant of the facts, the politics, the arguments (that have been ground out again and again), the nuances and, for this particular issue, almost anything factual about the devices in question.
