I disagree : community is what made doge go "viral", viral made big investors come in etc...

Community brings ideas to the table, crazy bobsled funding that lead to more appearances on mainstream medias, and therefore more people to join the community, and so goes on.

The price of doge is an other story, I don't know where it's going and how far it can go in a way or the other, but as far I know, the doge community is the thing that connected "the real world" to cryptos.

Without all those silly shibes laughing because of a meme, this coin wouldn't have survived a single week.
