You will agree with me that society and the environment can have a great influence on the lifestyle of every individual, you often can find yourself doing, or being involved in that activity that almost everyone is involved with in that your locale as a result of influence. Now considering someone who is a gambling addict, is there any possibility of him/her becoming better if they are relocated to another environment or society where people around are not involved in gambling?
Can someone still develop the habit of gambling and become an addict even though no one around gambles?
Exactly, it will help to come out of addiction. Society and the environment plays a major role in ones life and it changes one's attitude and completely his / her life. Lots of examples can be said on it. When a student who is a non smoker stays in a hostel along with students smoking and drinking, then yes, one or the other day, he tends to try it out and slowly falls to it. Like wise, when a smoker stays with a group of student who do not smoke, he or she tends to leave smoking or reduces slowly.
So obviously yes, when an addicted person is brought out to an environment where none cares about the game he is addicted, he or she will slowly tend to forget it. This is the medicine and this is what is advised by doctors.
