For me, you don't need to check and look and test the owner can able to do this and tell you what it looks like and the information you need if it isn't risky then the owner can share it here except for important data it shouldn't be shared here or to you.
About how then why? Why would he come to your house? Unless you are trusted he can able to go there but if not, that's risky.
