Dortmund are looking for talent, not star players. that's the difference between Dortmund movement with other teams in the transfer market this summer. So it's no wonder Dortmund have been very active in the transfer market this summer as Dortmund just lost their star Erling Haaland this summer. In the Bundesliga, Dortmund is indeed a tight competition for bayern in the race for the title, but at the end of the competition it is always Bayern who won the German league trophy.
It is what Dortmund have been doing for a long time, yeah. They must have enough money to bring the biggest star players in the world for sure but their vision is not that I'm afraid. Erling Haaland was the biggest example for this. They signed him for not a significant amount of money and they did this when not many number of people knew about him. But after that they helped him shine in the Bundesliga and everyone knows about him now. They would continue to keep this vision for a long time.
Even though I really don’t like the policy of Dortmund not aiming for any trophies, I have to agree that a lot of star players have come out of Dortmund and we have been entertained so much by those players. So, I have mixed feelings about Dortmund. I really don’t want to see dark mode just being business and not a club that competes for trophies. But at the same time, I also like the players that Dotmond have given us. But I would like to see Dotmond try to aim for trophies instead of profit from now on.
