You guys are both correct on your separate ways, there is so many kind of gambling in these God's green earth so I guess that leaves us with a different perspective and choices to make but I agree, gambling shouldn't be viewed as another source of income because it's not that sure that you can get profits every bet you take and loses is unavoidable.
But if you will try to be a professional gambler who often bets in sports then I think that should do the trick. High risk, high reward kind of thing.

And for such people, gambling can be a source of income. True risky source of income.
But still I think that most people and gamblers consider such winnings just as entertainment bonuses. And the games themselves are considered a fun pastime.
