It's not a competitive match, and not only is it pre-season, it's early pre-season and players are still getting fit. But the biggest reason is the players they put out, Liverpool made so many substitutions, they had over 30 different players appearing in total.

Regardless of the match and how many changes were made nobody is overrating the tactical display seen in the United squad but the victory will serve as a morale boaster to the team and that is what Manchester United really needs this season. With the fitness I saw in the United team, I believe they will do better that last season.
