Chelsea haven't still completed any defender transfer and there are still rumours all over the place. This time it is claimed that they are after Jules Kounde once again after hearing about Manchester City's interest as well. Manchester City are thinking of this deal only if Chelsea sign Ake from them. I assume that Chelsea are targeting to sign two defenders now. These two defenders would be perfect for them but if they enter the same race with Manchester City then I'm afraid they don't have a bigger chance for Kounde.
I'm still wondering what is keeping them till now since the departure of Antonio Rudiger , I thought that their very first signing should have been to sign a defender that would replace Rudiger's position and this should have been their main focus as to see a player that will really match the role of Rudiger in Chelsea is going to be a difficult thing for them if they do waste time as the targeted player to buy might get highjacked by other clubs.
Chelsea had signed Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli on a four years contract to replace Rudiger, the guy is a very solid and quality defender who will compliment Tiago Silva at Chelsea backline he is a perfect replacement, though he is 31 he is playing at the top level and one of the best centre back in Europe that is why he was signed for a four years contract despite being 31 while Tiago is 37, I believe the duo has the needed experience to assist Chelsea in their defence, hopefully he will settle down and adapt quickly before the commencement of the premier league in August 5.
