@Ratimov just confirmed not being a merit source anymore.
It is now up to him if he wants to disclose a little bit about the reasons that led him to this decision.

It is strange that this mention was not displayed in the telegram bot, but the last post from Daniel91 was displayed and thanks to this I learned about this discussion.

If this is of interest to anyone, I will clarify some points.

Because technically he is still merit source, I still see him in the MS list with a big merit allocation. But indeed, he doesn't give merits anymore.

Technically yes. I did not ask theymos to deprive me of my status and the merit is still being generated for me, perhaps there is some small chance that I will resume my activities, and I did not want to take drastic irreparable steps and then again ask theymos to reinstate me. Therefore, I limited myself to the fact that I simply stopped distributing merit.

Second, I knew of some drama with merit sources, and some of them revoked to be a source but it happened in 2018 or 2019. What happened with Ratimov? I actually did not know about it. Maybe I barely visit Reputation board so I missed something there.

This decision is not related to any reputational wars or revelations. I have always tried to distribute merits in a quality and productive way by creating various initiatives for its distribution, because for many users it was a joyful event to receive the next rank or the next merit record as soon as possible.

I guess it has become a burden for him to receive many requests for help with merits, which is understandable.

It's the little things that don't affect anything. Recently, I began to notice various versions of why I do not merit source and they are all wrong. The real reason why I abruptly stopped absolutely all my projects on the forum (this is the distribution of merit, reporting, beginner & help encyclopedia, etc.) is that I no longer have so much free time to carry out all this activity, and some sections of this forum no longer the same as before.

For example, the same Russian locale in which I did most of my merit distribution activities turned into a very toxic place and most of the users left it. The forum has recently become a kind of source of constant wars, where users insult each other on the basis of ethnic hatred, wish each other death and other terrible things, where the discussion of bitcoin began to fade into the background. In the Russian locale, this is especially pronounced, sometimes  don’t want to go there once again, not to mention the fact that would do something for him.
