Virat's style of play has changed over the years and he is no longer suitable for T20 cricket. Since there is big money in T20, he may still focus on that format, but IMO he should retire from T20Is and concentrate on ODIs and test matches (he can still participate in the IPL). But I am suspecting that the selectors are losing their patience. He needs to regain his form, or the selectors may ask him to GTFO. Unfortunately for Virat, and fortunately for the Indian team, a lot of promising youngsters are emerging and at least some are in direct competition with him.
Right now as Kohli is going with this most chances he lost his place because money is key for many Indian players, so they are playing all three formats with current situation Kohli need to take retirement from T20i and ODI with just play test matches and if he still wants then he can go ahead with IPL which is much better for him and his future.
Indian cricketing calendar is hectic which is also creating too many problems for players recently they have done few good things and now having two teams for white ball and red ball which is going to be positive but with this all now it's time for Kohli to decide about his future like Broad and Anderson he can play one format for very long time and take his form back as well.
