When I saw this thread, my first thought was that it was a new one even though I saw it was quite a few pages long--I thought I might have missed it in the past couple of days. I chuckled when I opened it and saw how old it actually is and realized for just how long I've been hearing about the fabled New Forum Software.
I'm almost certain said new software is never coming out, though I haven't checked for any new developments in the thread dedicated to it. I'm just assuming that since it's taken so long, things that might have been worked on in the past would be, if not obsolete, not real improvements to the forum as it currently is. Fine by me, though.
You're not alone. I haven't checked Meta for few days and I already thought that's new topic. I actually completely forgot about Mew forum software, there weren't any talks about it for a while. I'm not even sure that development of continues. .Actually funny thing is I took a slight hiatus (over a year) from BTCTalk. I came back, and first thought was to check on the status of the new forum. I can't say I'm surprised. Especially seeing the lack of commits on the repo.
