How about instead you mine some and be an early adopter? You'll be amongst the people creating the initial value. Creating an alternative to the currency in place isn't done overnight and causing a drop in value for everyone by giving out a ton of coins right after release isn't the way to go about it either. There will still be giveaways in the beginning but on a smaller scale. After the early adopters get in and a lot of people know about it, you can distribute a bunch of them to those who haven't tried it out yet in the first airdrop. That way 2 or 4 years from now you'll hopefully be able to walk into a couche-tard, grab some beer, get your cellphone out and pay with QBC.
i'm canadian and even with that bias i think that this coin is utter shit.

In here you are wrong, take a good look at QBC, it's got some of the best technical specs available right now, I made it so Québecers have the best cryptocurrency possible and I'll be updating it whenever possible to stay cutting edge.
