dopamine is related to the reward systems of the body
it's secreted from several activities that provide a reward, healthy ones like sex and exercise and unhealthy ones like gambling
not all drugs will stimulate dopamine secretion
and social media is probably more addictive and dangerous for brain balance than night clubs and alcohol... something to think about
This is something that bothers me, governments put a lot of emphasis on combating gambling addiction and while I think that is a good thing I wonder when are they going to do the same with smartphone addiction?
If anything I think this is a way bigger problem, as I personally do not know a single person which is addicted to gambling, however I could argue there are at least 10 different persons that I know which I consider to be addicted to their smartphones, and yet nothing is done to try to mitigate that behavior.
