Not actually. yahoo62278 will rent his avatar if it is a very long term deal. I checked and you are right. He changed his mind 3 years ago, with that post. Avatar space is not negotiable as I lose my animated avatar if I remove it.
I would sell my avatar space but only for a very high bidder. I wouldn't give up my avatar for cheap as animated avatars are no longer allowed.
