It is very disappointing to see the chelsea declining, after winning the Champions league and the EPL trophy the next year, much has been expected from Chelsea, I expected they would maintain their dominance in Europe and in the league. It seems like the change of ownership and the owner handling transfers himself has had a negative impact on the club's performance and dealings in the transfer market, though they have managed to sign Sterling and Koulibaly but it is not enough to make the squad any better than it is already, a lot still have to be done before the end of the window.
It used to be some amazing strikers and midfielders that set Chelsea to glory. Didier Drogba early on and then Diego Costa wrecking havoc on the pitch to get Chelsea off and running to win the League. They had some quality midfielders with the likes of motivated Edin Hazard, Fabrigas, Willian, Pedro and Kante. Since Costa left, there hasnt been a striker who was able to cement his place up top and get scoring. Which has turned into a huge issue at the moment. It gets a lot easier when you've got someone like Drogba or Costa up front. Which they now lack.
