i have followed all the procedures by inputing my form username, UID and select yes to get notified for both merits and mentions

I don't really what is the exact problem.
Did you go to /menu and checked whether mentions, merits and deleted posts are all enabled?
If they are, next step would be to ask in the bot's topic, maybe your non-standard username causes problems.
