I don't agree this is always the best way to know whether one services is legit or not. Just write the term "Bitcoin" and the word "scam" will appear after it automatically as one of the most relevan suggestions.
I didn't wrote "always" re-read please and yes, it might not be the best way to avoid scams, but it works for novices who deposit funds without doing any research... And since we are talking about 1xbit so if we google this word "1xbit scam"

I would suggest to dig a fit further via reddit, more than via review websites that may not be sincere, or via bitcointalk preferably, where one can find a serious, competent community.
Not much familiar with Reddit however bitcointalk is better than all in my opinion.
