Will this be the season of Real Madrid again? Because I heard doubts about them because they barely moved in the transfer market. They still rely on the majority of players who have been on the team for a long time. And most of those players are players who probably won't be in football for long. Ancelotti is very confident with what he has at the moment.
Having lost a pre-season game against Barcelona I was a little bit nervous. But that result cannot be the benchmark for the League's start. I think anceloti has considered all. They have a lot of old players, but their physical strength is still able to compete. I think that's what makes Anceloti not looking for many new players.
Madrid still have a chance of winning, even if they are old. But for the observers perhaps Barca are potential champions because they buy a lot of new players. Perhaps Anceloti does not want to be like other coaches who make star players fail to develop.
Barcelona are back on par with Real Madrid so during the pre-season match showed how Barcelona have become a very strong opponent again although that is not the benchmark I think Real Madrid's vigilance against Barcelona must remain cautious.

I think Anceloti still wants the old squad because of the belief it is possible to keep the older players by still being able to compete with other players, we'll just see if this season the older players can compete again or not.
Anceloti is a shrewd coach he can definitely play the old man role.
