Worth it because of the possible sponsorships and big $$$ surrounding your career, but other than that it's best to pick a skill or a trade and be professional at it. Most tradesmen that are extremely good at their work get a huge amount of money for what they do, without the same amount of risk that gambling offers. It's a good hustle but it certainly isn't one that can help you through until your retirement. You'll be pressured to earn as much as you can while you're young because professional gambling isn't always there for you.

At the end of the day everyone only has 24 hours every day.

Each person needs to find what they're good at and do that. Maybe even do something that you're slightly good but pays way better.

Also automation can help people earn a lot of money passively. It all depends on many factors, but only working one job is probably not the best way to get rich.
That's what we have to remember and everyone has the same thing.
Maybe if they don't master something, they can learn more and harder from others to improve their ability.
But if it is gambling, I think it will be difficult to become a professional because we already know it will never be easy to become a professional gambler.
Surely other people also want the same thing that we want, so there will be competition between us and only those willing to learn will be able to become professional gamblers.
