Will using, say, a 1000W PSU hurt? Is too much a bad thing? I already ordered it.
you will lose a tiny amount of power efficiency (probaby 2%) but aslong as your power price per KwH isn't stupid it wont make too much of a different.
Which 1000W did you order? i just replaced my old psu with a RM1000 and it made a huge difference
as an example, 2% * 1000W = 20W an hour
in a year you would be using an extra 175.KwH which even at $0.20 per KwH its only an extra cost of $35
so yes its $35 a year more expensive but your psu is under less stress and in theory should last longer
I ordered CORSAIR RM Series RM1000 1000W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply
Also ordered 4 X GIGABYTE GV-N75TWF2OC-2GI GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready Video Cards
I have not ordered the rest of the build yet as I am waiting on a paycheck.
