Now this is not a question of the FFP, but a question of the budget cap on salaries that La Liga has set. Barcelona wants to get rid of De Jong, but it seems he is smart and does not succumb to the tricks of scammers.
What surprised me the most was the attitude of Barcelona fans towards this incident which was from Barcelona leadership. They should have spoken out against the way the De Jong case was handled to protect the Barcelona image. But they silently supported the Barcelona leadership and even hassled De Jong, telling him to lower his salary. Is this how Barcelona going to apply pressure on their players from now on? Lower your salary or goes? Will this hurt their reputation for any new contract signed under Barcelona? And if I don’t have any particular complaints about the fans (they turn a blind eye to the antics of their favorite club), then I don’t understand why other players don’t show any solidarity? Barcelona is acting like a scammer who took out a loan to pay another loan and is trying to put all the blame on the players. This is unacceptable behavior and it hurts the whole of football (Barcelona's reputation is already ruined and it's too late to worry).
