FLAPPY COIN HOSTILE TAKEOVER
Well maybe not so hostile given the current Devs are currently AWOL and the coin has hit rock bottom... also it would not technically be a takeover but a hard fork (There is currently a team looking to do just this with Litecoin). This has been proposed a few times in this thread, but I think it might be worth doing. Details below:
Snip
I agree with a hard fork. I am a Windows developer, C++ and .Net. I have already forked the code on github but have not had the time to get familiar with it yet:
https://github.com/alcheByte/flappycoinIf we can get buy-in/acceptance from the community/pools we shouldn't need to rename it (right?) and everyone can maintain their investment in it to date...
Getting FLAP into mobile games as a form of in-game currency seems like the most obvious way to resuscitate the coin.
danfred has posted some of the issues related to scalability of these crypto wallets in general. Perhaps one way way to get more game developer buy-in would be to create an open source back-end solution for managing transactions that each dev could host themselves rather than (or in addition to) a single third party centralized solution...I agree, that is the holy grail and should be the end goal. It will take time though and require many modifications along the way, but if it is open source or distributed to the right people an achievable goal.
Also agree that Danfred should be involved, he has offered his services to the current Devs and had no response but from what he has posted on here I think he would be a valuable member of the new Dev team.
You are right in that we could go for a complete takeover, but it could get messy without the current Devs releasing the website etc. You could end up with several people on different forks, not to mention we can't even edit the original post in this thread. Guess it would come down to a group consensus. Complete takeover or name change fork?
