I am a little surprised by the negative results achieved by Atletico Madrid, because apart from they lost this match their game was also not as expected. Villareal were able to play better and were also effective in this match. At their peak, they managed to score a goal in the 73rd minute, and they managed to double the position in added time and end the resistance from Atletico Madrid.
Atletico Madrid had a nightmare because they should have been able to get a win but ended up losing and lacking players, at least they must be able to control their emotions so that there will not be a red card which ultimately makes it difficult for Atlético Madrid's players to catch up with a score that ultimately leads to defeat. Players who often commit fouls, at least don't use them for full time, it's better to make substitutions so that they remain conducive and calm, maybe the coach missed that.

A tight match at the Civitas Metropolitano ended with the visitors picking up all three points thanks to two late goals. Villarreal were organized and compact defensively, transitioning the ball from back to front with ease and patience as they took chances to attack. Pino opener goal came in the second half from a corner as Molina's inability to handle an aerial ball put his side under immediate pressure.

Although Simeone continued to direct Atletico Madrid's players to attack in hopes of a comeback, the team became frustrated that a disconnection midfield produced few chances for Morata and Felix.

Molina received a late red card for pushing Baena from behind, and Moreno's deft finish gave Villarreal a deserved two-goal lead.
