It's really a real story?
My friend is a Buddhism and we have talking about his religion, AFAIK monk doesn't have access about money, good cellphone etc but their live are based on people who want to donate food, medicine and cloak. They're no longer think about his family, his friends, or his appearance, what they do is only focus about their rules to achieve more higher rank. I don't believe about your story since my friend isn't lying, I hope someone who also a Buddhism could confirm this.
Interesting. This could be true as monks usually focus on solitude and prayer. However, I read about monks and nuns using the latest technology and social media platform. I've read that every monastery has different set of rules, some were allowed to use the internet to communicate with the world but of course it comes with a limit.
Therefore, we should at least consider more of his story. Because I have also thought, is there really a digital monk? Because latest technology might ruin the balance of the monk's way of living.
