A fall in price is better if we want bitcoin to grow up faster because a fall in the price will trigger lots of buyers than seeing btc becoming stable or stagnant in value. Short traders on the other hand are the ones who sell at a loss because they can always buy again and you said the price changes very quickly? This is why they need to hurry.
If there is one here that no need to rush, that will be the long term investors. A small/quick change in the price is nothing for them but their goal is to earn bigger profits by doing a one time sell off.
