If the merge leads to a very cheap gas fee, then it's also a good news. I remember trying to withdraw 56 USDT (ERC-20) from an exchange and the gas fee appeared to be 50 USDT. I had to trade it for Solana SOL and then withdrew with a very cheap gas fee.
Have you tried to did some analyzations about that? I meant you can easily get the news related into it. If you are witdrawing it again for now and the fees will be reduced a lot since people are massively moving to the second and first layer solution.

Those are reliable articles to be read. I hope that you will understand if there would be no scalability solution to be implemented.
