Why we have to leave gambling at the end where we take it as for fun only ! I think there is nothing wrong when we take its only for entertainment purpose except when a person going to addicted on it . I think the stealing of happiness and health that you speak of will only happen to gamblers who cannot control themselves.
Every addiction starts with the purpose of getting entertained or having good times. If you have self-control over it then there is no problem but when you lose that self-control problem arises. In that situation, it is better to seek professional help and leave gambling. Most gamblers do not have self-control and there have been many stories that have been shared here.
