I'm surprised that those kind of fights are still a thing, I could understand that when we were in the middle of the pandemic and there was almost no sports events being held all around the world and people were extremely hungry for anything that seemed to be even remotely related to sports then those kind of fights got incredibly popular, but now that we can see professionals boxers fighting at the top of their skill then I do not really see the point of those fights anymore.
But I think that this is quite normal and even logical. Top boxers fight once a year (at best) and not every fight is interesting. It is difficult enough to be satisfied with such rare events. Unlike professional fights, show fights are almost guaranteed to provide entertainment and they can be held at least every week - literally as much as the public is willing to pay with their attention and money. The pandemic has popularized this type of entertainment, but this does not mean that at the end of the pandemic, the public should cool off for such fights.
