Ethereum is  one the leading crypto currencies beyond any doubt  because it has advantage of first mover in  smart contracts  & DApp functionality. Its use case is very strong but might leave behind Bitcoin once merger is fully completed but it will not happen so soon it might take years before we start witnessing reasonable increase in transaction speed and substantial reduction in transaction fee. Once all these important mile stones are achieved then it will definitely attract huge investment in DEFI sector.
