Neymar is a selfish player but Neymar and Messi both have six assists so far in Ligue 1, which puts them both in the first rank in terms of assists only. That doesn't sound too selfish to me. He also scored seven goals, same number as Mbappe. I am a bit puzzled that there was still any doubt whether Neymar is going to stay with PSG or not. That topic was long ended in my opinion. It would also be a bad moment if he now left. All the top players can play the Champions League and that is still some unfinished business for him. I am sure he also has some special details in his contract that make it extremely attractive for him to win that title. Who knows how much he really earned so far and will still earn just from playing for PSG. If he stays until 2027, which is the year his contract will expire, PSG might have paid him half a billion including signing fees and whatever bonuses we don't know about.
The problem when discussing PSG and Neymar is actually not a performance problem if I look at it as a whole, but because he doesn't really get along with the higher-ups there which makes the higher-ups angry about this. He is one of the players who is quite good and that is proven now, but because of the disagreement and the conflict with Mbappe who incidentally here is the golden child of the club's top brass, the issue of sales is clearly making this worse.
The real problem is the question how they are going to deal with a crisis. They didn't have one yet. But when they have one, are they going to solve it? That is the time when things get interesting. There is no question that these players could win any trophy, but how do they get along with each other when there is maximum pressure? I am curious to see how they are going to solve problems as a team, and these problems are going to appear when they meet hard opponents.
