That's also a bigger risk as well, there would be a pool where they could earn a lot more together, so that means one person could throw in the usual 5 bucks they wager, but if there are more people with 5 bucks then they would all join in and if they win... well they get back what they invested so it would be exactly like 5 bucks in return.
Imagine this, you are trying to win $500 with $20 balance so now that seems pretty unlikely but with the clan feature its kinda likely. Imagine having 10 people pool in $20 each so that would be $200 in balances and its way easier to get it to $500 rather than trying with your $20 alone. This is pretty much the function of the clan feature, bigger balances to play together with another player
because more wagering usually equals bigger rewards.
You kinda forget that there is house edge so theoretically* you lose money with more wager
