Since this topic is about the history of the development of gambling in the world as humanity develops, an interesting question arises - when did people begin to use gambling in order to "launder" money. 
I don't think it was in the Middle Ages when income control was either non-existent or minimal.  I think that all these machinations for money laundering began somewhere at the end of the 19th century, when the tax services developed and began to work effectively.
 And what do you think?
 Is this the case or the process has a longer history???

It is possible that gambling was used when taxation is implemented.  As we can see taxation was implemented even in ancient times but it was in the later middle ages when crude income taxes for rich were implemented in Germany[1].  Since this is self-assessment it is possible that gambling is used to hide the actual income of a person.

There is no exact date or history that tells when was gambling used but since money laundering was done dated back from as early as 2000 BCE[2], It is possible that gambling is used to launder money somewhere along that time frame.

That history told that money laundering has a longer history.
