Basically I watched the entire game. Borussia Dortmund played really well. They always prevented Manchester City from getting the ball. Their defense has shown great potential. I expected them to win the game. But Haland's goal in the last phase of the game put Dortmund behind and ultimately defeated.
But do you expect Borussia Dortmund to win at home against the UCL favorite Manchester City? I am seeing the same scenario when they play again. Superb defense right from the start to avoid Man City from penetrating. Another possible goal from Borussia in the early phase of the game. But City will have another rally in the later part to end it at 2-1. It will be interesting for the fans seeing Erling Haaland visiting his former home but playing on the opposite side.
It's not hard to think Dortmund can defeat Man City with their current squad. History has it that Dortmund has won Man City 3 times in their total of eight meetings while Man City lead with 4. What I think Dortmund lack now is confidence and it's a bit disheartening to note that one of your good strikers is in the enemy camp.
I think Haaland is a prolific player as he has managed to score three goals in this tournament to stand equal with Mbappe and Lewandowski. His saving goal for Man City was a much needed one but out of respect for his former club, the Norwegian refused to celebrate. Quite a lot to learn from that if you ask me.
