No wonder there are such huge cuts only in MMA. It is impossible to make such a cut with boxing glove. Such cuts can occur in boxing after head clash or if a bloody bruise explodes. But boxing, imho, is much more traumatic, mainly because there is no pause (like clinch, ground game) from receiving punches.
Most of this terrible cuts are done by elbows or knees and that is not allowed in boxing, there are gloves in MMA but I think they could be improved a lot to avoid or reduce eye pocking.
When I say cuts I always remember Diaz brothers that are always bleeding a lot, and once you get cut it's easier to open old wound again much easier.
