If you think MMA is more barbaric and brutal compared to boxing you obviously haven't done your research. I would suggest you look up how many fighters have died in the last 5 years in MMA and how many fighters have died in the last 5 years in boxing. In MMA, or in the UFC which is the most popular stage of MMA, the fight is stopped whenever one fighter gets knocked out or concussion. But in boxing, if a fighter is knocked out there is a count of 10. If the fighter stands on his feet in the count of 10, he can continue and after that, he gets beat up more and more.

This is a list of fighters dying because of boxing:
List of deaths due to injuries sustained in boxing

And this is a list of fighters dying because of MMA:
Has Anyone Died in UFC (MMA)?

Now tell me which one is more brutal?
I think he mean about barbaric and brutal is about bloody or huge cuts that's usually happen on MMA rather than boxing, not about death. I tend to agree boxing is more dangerous than MMA since the stoppage on boxing are to late until the boxer fall down after taking so many punches.

MMA are more flexible to hit on most part of your body and you can win via submission that doesn't make you have serious injury, while boxing is more targeted to your head which increase the chance of getting brain damage.

Yes, I got it.
I think that getting cut is far better compared to not being alive.

We all know about the broken bone injury that can happen in MMA. That certainly does not happen in boxing. But broken bones can heal. I think we all know about Parkinson's disease. The best boxer of all time,  Muhammad Ali suffered from Parkinson's disease because of getting hit on the head too much. At least those don't happen in MMA.  I know that at one point in life everyone has Parkinson's disease because of being old. But because of boxing that can happen a lot quicker.

The point that I am trying to make is, injuries from MMA can be career-ending, but injuries from boxing can be life-ending.
