Ok so I tried

cgminer -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 -u my_btc_address -p x --gekko-newpac-boost --gekko-newpac-freq 100

It crashed. I then removed --gekko-newpac-boost and I got the same problem.
