Independence but not free
When Nigeria gained independence from British authority in 1960 and was proclaimed a federal republic with Dr. Nnamdi Azikwe serving as its first president, it was a momentous day in Nigerian history. It is truly a day to honor freedom because it is not something that can be attained without cost. Following independence, on January 15, 1966, there was the first military takeover, also known as the founding of the first republic, which was controlled by several leaders who represented the various regions. Very intriguing system of governing. Although we are celebrating our independence, are we truly free? We practice democracy which was supposed to be a government of the people, where the priority of the government is supposed to be the people but their priority is now their pockets greed has taken over our nation, and corruption has eaten deep into our system that as crumble the economy and governance of our nation indeed we celebrate freedom but still in bondage, but despite the challenges we stand firm and hope for the best, let's pray and hope for the best, Nigeria is our home our land and our nation, we also have a role to play as its citizen so let’s perform our duties correctly and God bless Nigeria.
Happy independent day Nigeria and to all Nigerians.
It has been a very critical moments in the life of our country Nigeria and for every Nigerian. We have a plethora of reasons not to be happy and proud of our Father land, not to celebrate our nation when compared to other nation's of the world. Yes! Yes your reasons, my reasons, our reasons put together are true but let's not forget we have no other place to genuinely call HOME with an identity apart from our Father land.
If we could go through these few nights left I surely believe there's brighter and better days ahead. Let us build together the kind of country we vision to live in.
Nigeria is ours to build come 2023 and beyond!
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE NIGERIA, GREAT NATION GREAT PEOPLE!
