It was all lies and fake set ups for everyone would hold while the scammers dumped on investors.

The scammers forked themselves to start new scam projects under different names for the past years.

Both statements are wrong.
This shows quite well the different views, of developers and investors, community.

It is a project that has been on the market for a long time, but has always missed the right moment.
And at the moment it looks like it will continue. One will always be late. The project is in a state of suspended animation or in a coma.
Many good projects that wanted to build on NEM/symbol have now opted for other blockchains. Not to speak of the forks that have divided the community.
The main reasons are certainly the eternal delay in the further development of Catapult and the stop in the development of NIS (+closed source).
The same with the so-called Foundation, where you could have read the terms of membership only after joining. And of course the invisibility of NEM / symbol for almost the entire period since 2014.
Due to the manageable number of developers, nothing will change here. In principle, it is now a large centralised Japanese school project, with the same problems that were obvious years ago.
People are running after the development. Also in Japan.

- Furthermore, the community has been made dependent on discord.
- Core devs make unilateral decisions towards the network(e.g. NIS-reward).
- dependence on Japan
- centralised network
- a CM who officially invests in a scam in his capacity as NEM red admin

this could be continued ...

Nevertheless, I hope that they finally learn from these mistakes, even if I find it increasingly difficult.
After all, the idea of starting NEM was quite different. But maybe you first have to make mistakes in order to learn from them ...
In the end, the developers, the community and the investors are all paying a price.

I would still say that it was / is worth the time and financial investment.
