That's actually big business, and it's said to lower greenhouse gas emissions compared to flaring, because a generator has a more complete combustion than an open flame.
Up until now the problem was what to do with all that electricity out in the middle of nowhere. But ASICs can sit in steel boxes wherever the cheap / free electricity is produced. That's super unique; there's nothing like it.
