I don't understand why Manchester united are struggling so much. They have a really good squad and talented players. They have a manager who has done really good things at Ajax. I don't know what more needs to happen, Ronaldo is not even played properly. They exclude him when they could benefit from his experience and expertise. How can they be favorites when they can hardly beat a team like Omonia?
I was also surprised by the Manchester United game against Omonia yesterday. They seem to be struggling even though they are only against a small team from Cyprus and they will almost lose if Marcus Rashford doesn't score a third goal. Ronaldo is still under-perform considering his age is also not young anymore.
Ronaldo can't play like he used to, but united is a team with more potential. With 2-3 transfer reinforcements, this team can come to a really good place. They especially need to fix the defense. I think they will try to solve some of this problem with kim min jae from napoli. If that happens, it could really work. A striker and a midfielder would be really good. They are conceding too many goals. If they don't find a solution for the defense, they will drop mentally after every goal they concede.
Manchester United don't need a striker. What they need is to fix their midfield very well. The only outstanding player in that midfield is Eriksen, others have not gotten their place yet, including Bruno. If Erik Ten Hag can play both Casemiro and McTomny at 4 and set Eriksen up to play 10 and then play Sancho, Martial and Anthony. It will make sense. Rashford is more deadly when he plays from wing and when he plays with Martial. So second half he would be introduced to pair with Martial.
