I think that he might want to finish the game early by starting with his main players and having a nice goal difference until the end of the first half. He can sub those players off in the first minutes of the second half then.

Liverpool had better finish the Rangers game early otherwise they might be tired against Manchester City which would make things even harder for them. They are already a terrible defense team these days. It is already difficult for them to get even one point from Manchester City in this one. It will all be depending on improving their defensive effort a little more. Haaland wouldn't be easily stopped by even van Dijk in the other case.
