Looks like Jordan Poole got his bag. 140 million dollar contract extension. I wonder if this would have played out differently without the Green incident. This pretty much seals Green’s fate with the Warriors. They can’t afford to pay him what he’ll want without paying half a billion dollars in luxury taxes. Now we wait and see if Draymond gets traded, opts into his player option for next year, or is involved in a sign and trade.

Poole performed well last season, and it looks like the Warriors' management is well aware Poole has huge potential. So this contract extension was quite expected. At the same time, this deal might not be good news for Draymond because the Warriors are clearly hinting that they prefer Poole.
p.s.
There is news that Wiggins has also agreed to a $109 mln extension with the Warriors.
Wiggins also got the contract as you have said, 109 million for four years. I understand the moves of the Warriors but I can't comprehend the luxury tax situation. Are we to expect that they will really pay almost half billion for taxes? Do Nba franchises really making that much money when they become champions? Or they are planning to trade a lot and some kind of rebuilding? Curry is 34 years old now. The Warriors people must be considering Curry's age factor and plan these moves accordingly, of course. I'm rather curious about where will GSW be in 5 years, 10 years. Of course it is very very hard to predict but I mean what kind of team they are thinking to build.

Boils down to the end result and goal, to win a championship.

And so the Warriors have find the perfect fit again in Poole and Wiggins and so they are wiling to take that risk and think that it will be the next generation of players that will bring them a championship.

As long as fans are willing to pay tickets and watch the Warriors  then I would say that the tax situation won't be a problem for them. Compare to other teams as well who are rebuilding for this season. They are willing to pay players huge money just to be able to win a ring, like the Nets.
