I just noticed something, was this accepted by the participant who applied here in your bounty thread, I'm just asking. because I looked at 3x all the pages here up to 7 pages, I didn't see anything from this @n0nce who posted here his application that he applied to you even though I know that he was indeed selected as qualified.
The answer to your surprise can be found in the op as the manager stated he could invite anyone he likes.
