There will be a hard fork a block 8000.. block rewards will will be lowered. But what will happen after that point is yet to be decided.

We are at block 7810 as of now, hard fork little bit more than 6 hours away, and not to have a defined remediation plan at this time does not inspire confidence in the final solution. I hope I am wrong.
