In La Liga, the only competitors are Barcelona and Real Madrid . Every year someone from Real Madrid and Barcelona is crowned champion but the English Premier League is much more varied than La Liga. It is difficult to say when any team will be the champion here. However, Barcelona is not less than Real Madrid at this stage. Now Barcelona is a full strength team. However, Barcelona defeated Real Madrid in the last match and proved that Real Madrid is the best so far.
Indeed the rivalry for the title in the La Liga has mostly been between Real Madrid and Barcelona and that makes it less fun and less intensed and competitive unlike in the English Premier league where you have up to 5 teams every competing every season for the trophy and that is why the league is so competitive and interesting and it is difficult to say who will win from the beginning.
Actually laliga used to have 3 strong title contender every single season , atletico madrid just lack of consistency and as for the result they are slowly forgotten to be recognized as one of the best .. it,s real madrid and barcelona only which yeah it's unhealthy for any competition especially la liga.

Actually it has always been Real Madrid and Barcelona show in La Liga, there was when Atletico Madrid was in the fight that should be three to four seasons ago but recently they have lost the grip and they have just become like other clubs in the La Liga.
We could expect that another club which is an underdog Club can give a fight in the La Liga title even if not ending as first or second but be at the top four but given a very tough fight during the season play . Last season Sevilla did it I don't know if they can repeat so this season.
