I had high hopes for Newcastle this season and they have been performing on a really high level so far. Howe was doing a great job even last season - they fully deserved their win over Spurs today.
Newcastle United's 2-1 win over Tottenham was the answer to their outstanding performance on the pitch, and for the time being they deserved to move into the top four of the Premier League.
Hugo Lloris' error saw Callum Wilson give the Magpies the lead, and Miguel Almiron added a superb second for his sixth goal of the year. Harry Kane pulled one back in the second half for Spurs, but the Magpies defense held firm to secure the three points and advance them to a Champions League spot.
Again and again Tottenham have to lose and make their points back on hold and are not very safe in their current position because they are only 2 points away from Newcastle and Chelsea who are below them.
On the other hand, this performance makes Newcastle one of the clubs to be reckoned with on the dark horse because after the destruction of Westham, Wolves and Leicester, now there is Newcastle which incidentally is a rich club that has started to push into the top position and it is not impossible that in the coming seasons they will be troublesome with the power of the middle east sheikh as the owner.
