Honestly, there's no safe way for exchanging crypto in person, but there are a few preventive steps that'll reduce its risks to a minimum:- If the wallet that you're using allows you to create a hidden wallet, do it and transfer an insignificant amount to your decoy wallet!
- Make sure to "at least" bring a friend [preferably someone that's tougher than you] and meet in public places that have enough crowd!
- Try to meet in a place that has a nearby pawnshop or money exchange, so you can take out a few banknotes at random and ask them to check if it's real or counterfeit money [do this before you send your crypto].
- When everything is done, make sure nobody follows you on your way back home!
