Don't demonize Ronaldo.
I did not demonize him.
His troubles at United were mostly due to promises from the club and Ten Hag himself that he was counted on and needed by the team. And immediately from the start he was put on the bench. What is this if not a deception and why should Ronaldo not be outraged?
The drama is bad from three sides.
First Manchester United did not want to release Ronaldo or open with transfer offers. Maybe they did care about income from jersey, ticket sales with Ronaldo's effects.
Second, their coach, Ten Hag did not know what he want from Ronaldo and how he can use Ronaldo but he rejected to let Ronaldo moving to another club. They both promised a lot with Ronaldo in the summer.
Third, Ronaldo was disappointed and reacted badly but he should not blame it all on Manchester United and Ten Hag. He is no longer a young player and his reactions are bad at his age. At least he was given some chances but generally his performance was bad. If he want to get more appearances, he must play better with any chance he gets from Ten Hag
No, do not confuse the sequence of events. First, Ten Hag (and the club) declares that he needs Ronaldo and that he is counting on him. Then there are questions about the current game form and the start of games from the bench. These questions have arisen only because Ten Hag uses a high-pressure system and Ronaldo does not fit into it.
What do you think, when Ten Hag made statements that he needed Ronaldo, he did not know his age? Or did he not know what kind of game scheme he wanted to use at United? You are not that naive.
There is nothing wrong with the player and the formation not matching - for example, Ibrahimovic was fired from Barcelona because of this and there was no talk of Ibrahimovic's bad form back then - he was cool but he didn't fit Guardiola's formation.
In this case, the ratly rat Ten Hag was clearly lying when he made his statements, and I see no reason why Ronaldo should not be outraged.
