Yeah, it was dodgy for a while, but I didn't really use that Pi so I didn't bother buying a new one. Now it seems it failed, but it seems useful to try software on a low-power / low-performance system such as in this case. Even the Pi 3b needs 3A to have some headroom and run stable, so random old 5V phone chargers just don't cut it.
