OP says that he's a changed man and merits are no longer important, but it's reverse psychology. He wanted people to give him merits in 2020 and they didn't, so why not try to tell them that he doesn't want them? Maybe then he'll finally get some!
Funny as your post is, the reality is even better. OP experienced a magic gift of a single merit from Henri long time ago. Years have passed and he still feels the warmth of that moment when a merit point was added to his profile. He left bitcointalk, but came back craving that feeling, but his benefactor was no longer here.
